Memorize and Reflect

Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. (Ecclesiastes 4:12)

Prayer Direction

Thank God for the people He has placed in your life who always make you feel welcome and invited into the church community. Pray for God to make you that kind of person to others who are new to Shoreline and need to feel embraced in the body of Christ. Ask God to help you take one new step toward a deeper connection to the community of God’s church, His people.

“Live It!” Challenge

Linger Longer: This next Sunday, hang around in the worship center, lobby, courtyard, or parking lot for an extra few minutes. Look around. Identify someone you don’t know and say hello. Or, find someone you know but have not connected with for some time and reach out to them.

Small Group Discussion

  1. Tell about one of the “Reasons People Might Avoid Community” that resonated for you. How has this reason kept you from connecting in community on a deeper level at some point in your life?

  3. How are these reasons understandable, but still not helpful for followers of Jesus?

  8. Read: 1 Corinthians 12:12-26. What do you learn about your role in the church and what you can offer to others from this passage? What is one unique gift or ability God has given you to bless others in the church?
