Memorize and Reflect

While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus from town after town, he told this parable (story)… (Luke 8:4)

Prayer Direction

Thank Jesus for coming as one of us, for knowing our deepest needs, and for speaking truth in ways we could understand, receive, and follow Him. Ask for courage to share your stories of God’s presence and power in your life. Invite the Holy Spirit to take the story of Jesus and grow you to be more and more like Him with each passing day.

“Live It!” Challenge

My Favorite Story: Think through the stories Jesus told when He walked on this earth. Pick one that has real power and meaning to you. Seek to distill the story down into a simple message you believe God is speaking to us as His children. Then, draw one application from this truth that will lead to change in your life… making you more like Jesus.

Small Group Discussion

  6. Read: Luke 12:13-21. What is Jesus warning us against in this passage and why do you think He is giving such a serious warning?
