Memorize and Reflect

Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; Give thanks to him and praise his name. (Psalm 100:4)

Prayer Direction

Ask God to reveal more of Himself to you so that your desire to worship Him grows. Invite the Holy Spirit to draw you into worship more often and in more places. Pray for a heart that is so devoted to worship God that you gather with His people more often and with greater passion to give Him glory and praise.

“Live It!” Challenge

4 weeks…100%: For the next four weeks make a commitment to do six things as a worshipper who is part of a local church: 1) Be at church and arrive ten minutes early so you can have a little breakfast, greet people, and be seated before the first song begins, 2) Greet 3-4 people warmly as you walk in and enter the worship center, 3) Sing each song with intentional passion and engagement, 4) Bring your Bible, take notes, and come up with one application for your life from the sermon, 5) During the offering do one of three things… give a joyful gift in the offering plate, or use you phone app to give, or lift up a prayer asking God to use the gift you gave online, 6) Lift up your heart in engaged prayer each time we pray together in the service. If you do this for the next four weeks, you will be amazed at how God will show up and reveal Himself to you during worship.

Small Group Discussion

  1. Tell about where and how you learned to worship God? What do you wish you had learned earlier or better?

  2. What does worship look like in the flow of your week? When and where do you most naturally find yourself giving God praise and glory and lifting Him up? Where and when do you find it hard to connect with God in worship?

  3. Read: Psalm 100. What are some of the reasons this Psalm says we should worship and celebrate our God?

  4. According to Psalm 100, what are some of the ways we can worship, praise, and honor our God? How can you engage more in worship in the flow of a normal week?

  5. Read: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. This passage gives a powerful call to rejoice, pray, and give thanks pretty much all the time. What are some of the things that get in the way of you worshipping God and lifting up praise? How can you remove some of these roadblocks?

  6. Read: John 4. God is actually looking for people who will worship Him. This should amaze us! What does it mean to worship in the Spirit? How can you grow more responsive to the Holy Spirit when you are in a worship service or seeking to glorify God in the flow of your life?

  7. What does it mean to worship God in truth? How can knowing the truth of His Word (the Bible) help you grow as a worshipper? How can being honest and authentic as you worship connect you more to God?

  8. What is one practical and specific way you can engage more in worship when you gather with God’s people each week? How can your group members pray for you as you seek to go deeper as a worshipper in times of corporate praise and celebration?

  9. What is one way you want to grow as a worshipper in the flow of your daily life? How can your group members cheer you on and keep you accountable as you seek to grow in this area of your life as a worshipper?
