Memorize and Reflect

Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. (1 Corinthians 12:12)

Prayer Direction

Thank Jesus for entering history, giving His life on the cross, and for calling you into relationship with Him and with the people He places in your life. Ask God to give you courage to seek to grow the spiritual component of your relationships. Pray for the people in your life to be open to the new spiritual dynamics you are going to seek to bring into your relationships.

“Live It!” Challenge

Can I Pray With You? - Over the next week, commit to ask five people if you can pray with them. Don’t pressure them to pray out loud with you (but let them if they want to). Offer to pray for them when they share a joy or a need. You will be amazed how God shows up and moves in a relationship when you pray together!

Small Group Discussion

  1. Tell about one relationship you have where there are regular spiritual dynamics at work. Describe how Jesus fits into this relationship and explain how these spiritual connections make the relationship deeper and stronger.

  2. If you are a Christian, tell about when you became a follower of Jesus and how your faith in the Savior impacts your other relationships. If you are not yet a follower of Jesus, what is keeping you from taking this step of faith?

  3. Read: Psalm 119:9-16 How does regular reading of the Bible grow your faith? How does this help deepen your relationships?

  4. What might God do in your relationships if you share what you are learning as you walk with Jesus (reading the Bible, listening for His Spirit, learning from other believers…)? What might God do if you ask other believers to share what God is teaching them and doing in their life?

  5. Read: Numbers 6:22-27 What is the heartbeat and message of this blessing? Why is it so important that we speak words of blessing over those we love and care about?

  6. Who is one person in your life that needs to hear more words of blessing? What words might you speak into their life?

  7. Tell about a relationship you have that does not really have a spiritual component. What can you do to take a step forward in growing spiritual connections in this relationship?

  8. Tell about one relationship you have where there are regular spiritual dynamics at work. Describe how Jesus fits into this relationship and explain how these spiritual connections make the relationship deeper and stronger.
