Thank Jesus for the glory, wonder, and power of His Resurrection. Ask Him to help you walk in the joy and power of His resurrection every day of the year. Pray for the Holy Spirit to put two people on your heart: One Christian you should invite to a Good Friday service and one non-believer you should invite to an Easter service.“Live It!” Challenge
A Simple Invitation: Take five minutes, get on your knees next to your bed (if you are able) and ask God one question: Who would you have me invite to Easter worship at Shoreline? Wait until He puts someone on your heart (it could be a name, a picture in your mind of the person, or a clear whisper from heaven). Once you know who you should invite, pray about how you can connect with them. Should it be face-to-face, over the phone, through FaceTime, or by an e-mail or text? Once you have a sense of how you should extend the invitation, do it! Then, pray and trust that God will work. Be at peace with whatever the results are.Small Group Discussion
Tell about a family tradition you experienced at Easter time as you grew up (either religious or secular). What did you understand about Easter when you were a child?
Read: 1 Corinthians 15:12-34. Why is the resurrection of Jesus from the dead so central to our Christian faith?
Why did the resurrection of Jesus break the power of sin and Satan? How does this reality bring us hope and power when we face temptation?
So many people in our world live with shame for past choices and behaviors. How did the cross and the empty tomb deal with our shame, guilt, and fear?
Read: Romans 6:8-11 and Romans 8:9-11. What does it mean to say that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is available to us? What can we do to unleash and walk in this power?
Loneliness invades the lives of so many people. How does the resurrection of Jesus and the coming of His Holy Spirit remove loneliness and assure us that we are never alone? How have you experienced the presence of Jesus in a time when no one else was around?
There are many blessings and good gifts in this life. What are some of the wonderful things God has allowed you to enjoy or experience?
The hope of heaven is infinitely greater than the best things in this life. What do you look forward to when you are finally with Jesus in eternity?
Who is one person you love and care about who has not yet received Jesus as their leader and the one who saves them from their sins? How can your group members pray for you as you seek to share the love of Jesus with this person?
