Ask God to show you an area or situation in your life, or in the life of a friend or loved one that you are still struggling with or consider hopeless. Ask Him to deliver you, heal you or provide for you in the midst of this situation. Pray for His will to be done and ask for His peace, strength, endurance, and joy while you wait.“Live It!” Challenge
As you prepare for Good Friday and Easter Sunday, find a quiet place each day this week to reflect on the grace and mercy Jesus extends to you, and how He alone is the source of ultimate joy and satisfaction. Spend this time thanking Him and, ask Him to reveal to you any areas in your life where you might be seeking something other than His will for your life and the goodness He wants for you. Also ask Him to give you boldness and courage to invite someone who doesn’t yet know Him to attend one of the four Easter Sunday services.Small Group Discussion
What is an example of a hopeless situation in your life that you have faced?
Share how God moved in that situation and how it strengthened your faith? How has it impacted others around you and their perspective of God?
In John 2:1-11, we read the first recorded miracle in the Gospel of John. What does this miracle reveal about Jesus and His love for people?
Read: Romans 11:36 and Colossians 1:15-17. What does this also reveal about Jesus in relation to the miraculous transformation of water into wine?
How does this give us great peace and confidence in surrendering our lives to Jesus and what He wants to do in and through our lives?
Even in the midst of whatever situation you might be facing now, how might you find greater joy in knowing and trusting in God’s perfect timing and will?
In John 2:11, we read that this miracle both revealed His glory and His disciples believed in Him. Yet throughout the rest of John’s Gospel and the other Gospels, we see the disciples often struggled with doubt. How does this help us deal doubts when we are faced with challenging circumstances and situations in our own lives?
How does this story also remind us to reach out to Jesus through prayer before we attempt to “fix” something in our life or “help” someone else during their painful time?
Who might be someone in your life that needs to have a life transforming encounter with Jesus? Given this week, would you commit to invite them to attend one of the Easter Sunday services?
