Memorize and Reflect

5 Ezra opened the book. All the people could see him because he was standing above them; and as he opened it, the people all stood up. 6 Ezra praised the Lord, the great God; and all the people lifted their hands and responded, “Amen! Amen!” Then they bowed down and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground.” (Nehemiah 8:5&6 )

Prayer Direction

Praise God for His glory, power, and desire to lead your life and our church. Confess any hidden sin in your life and thank God that He is ready and willing to forgive you through the grace of Jesus. Lift up praise to God for the ways He has led your life, protected you, and forgiven you.

“Live It!” Challenge

Do What You Did Before -God’s people in Nehemiah’s days had forgotten rhythms of worship and practices of praise. God called them back to those holy habits that had guided their lives of faith years before. Identify one or two godly habits and life disciplines you use to do but have fallen out of the rhythm of your life. Start them up for the coming month and see how this impacts your praise and worship of God.
