Memorize and Reflect

There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:28)

Prayer Direction

• Pray that our community will be blessed by Shoreline and that God would receive the glory. • Give thanks for our Pacific Grove Campus. • Ask God to continue to grow and bless our Spanish-speaking ministry (Iglesia Shoreline). • Pray for the financial means to fulfill all God wants us to do as we expand more into our community. • Invite the Holy Spirit to sensitize our hearts to become more aware of all God’s spiritual blessings and how we can continue to share those with our community. • Pray for boldness and courage as we us step out in faith with new ventures in our community.

“Live It!” Challenge

Prayer Walk or Drive-Walk or drive to 80 Garden Court and spend 10-15 minutes praying for God to make this property available for Shoreline. Pray that this property can be used for the glory of Jesus and that one day we will have a Youth Center, an Organic Outreach International Ministry Center, Adult Classes, and more space to reach new people!

Small Group Discussion

  1. Tell about how you have experienced the challenges of being part of a growing church that has limited space to do our ministry.

  2. What is one way we could increase, expand, or develop a ministry at Shoreline if we had more space to accommodate the great things God is doing?

  3. Watch: Called Video for Week 4
What are ways we are reaching our community and how is this outreach impacting our growth as a congregation?

  4. Read: John 3:1-8
What do you learn about Nicodemus in this passage? Why do you think Jesus was so intent on leading Nicodemus forward spiritually?

  5. Read: John 4:4-14
What do you learn about the Samaritan woman in this passage? Why do you think Jesus broke social convention and reached out to this woman?

  6. What are some of the differences between the two people Jesus is reaching out to and seeking to save (in John 3 and 4)? How are these two people a picture of the bigness of God’s heart?

  7. How does Shoreline reflect the beautiful diversity of people who live in Monterey County? Who are people groups that we still need to reach with the love and good news of Jesus? How might we be more intentional about extending God’s love to these people?

  8. How can adding more space to our base camp help us be more effective in reaching more people and connecting with people from a wider variety of backgrounds?

  9. In recent months Shoreline has been developing three new ministries to fill in some gaps in our outreach. They are: Divorce Care, Grief Share, and Jail Ministry. How might these ministries help us reach people who are far from God and minister to people who already know Jesus?

  10. Can you think of a ministry that Shoreline might want to consider developing in the coming year that would enable us to reach a wider variety of people in our community? How might we begin praying and planning to begin this kind of a ministry?
