Memorize and Reflect

“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty." (Psalm 91:1)

Prayer Direction

Ask God to uncover and show you (and others) hidden sin in your life. Pray for wisdom to make daily choices that honor God. Ask the Spirit of God to meet you in the eye of life’s storms.

“Live It!” Challenge

Heavenly Minded: Some people worry that Christians think too much about heaven. The truth is, most of us don’t reflect on heaven enough. Knowing that heaven is our home and this world is not our final destination can bring great peace. Take time this week to think about who you will see in heaven (Jesus, and Christians who have passed away). Think about what it will be like to be with Jesus forever. Read: 1 Corinthians 15:42-58.

Small Group Discussion

  1. Who was (is) your favorite super hero, what special powers to they have, and why do you like this super hero?

  2. Read: Luke 22:47-53

  3. Read: 1 John 1:8-10 and 2 Corinthians 7:8-10
How can hidden sin in our life rob us of peace (with God and with the people around us)?

  5. Read: Galatians 5:16-18
What are some of the stupid choices people make and why can’t they see the peace-stealing consequences of these choices? What is one bad choice you have made and how did this impact your ability to live in peace?

  6. How can prayerful and patient seeing of God’s wisdom from the Holy Spirit help us make wiser choices? How have your choices become wiser as you have learned to walk more closely with Jesus?

  7. Read: Philippians 4:4-7
How does prayer help us overcome anxiety and worry? How does thanksgiving help us overcome anxiety?

  8. What worries and anxieties can your group members pray with you about so that you will experience God’s peace in greater measure?

  9. Read: Psalm 91:1-7
How does the hope of heaven bring peace in the hard times of life? What can we do to keep our hearts and minds on heaven when so much in this life screams for our attention?
